Rudolf Koller

Railway Consultant; former Head of International Relations, ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG

Rudolf KollerRudolf retired from ÖBB in 2015 to become a freelance railway consultant and university lecturer at St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences. He began his railway career at ÖBB IN 1979 as a Regional Project Manager for rail infrastructure projects. In 1990 he moved to ÖBB headquarters and took over responsibility for controlling and project management. From 1995 he worked as a Senior Expert for ÖBB International Affairs and from 2002 as Head of International Relations at ÖBB Holding and ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG. In these positions he focussed on EU railway issues, the development of the Trans-European railway corridors and the international cooperation between railways. He was also the representative of ÖBB within international organisations and associations including CER and UIC as well as Chairman of various international working groups. Rudolf studied electro-technics at the Technical University of Vienna from 1974 – 1979 and graduated with a degree in engineering (Dipl.-Ing.)
