IHS market study indicates that the number of IoT devices installed today is about 20 billion and will reach 75 billion by 2025. The market is there but the standard IOT offer needs to be better aligned with the rail sector which requires certified products with rugged hardware for a harsh and demanding environment (shock, vibration, temperature, lifespan, certifications…). This session will discuss in what ways IoT could revolutionise the rail sector and how this is to be achieved.
