RDG runs services to Train Companies and the travelling public including: National Rail Enquiries, seat reservations systems, real-time service information to retailers and station platforms, smart ticketing services, ticket settlement systems as well as many services to retailers, policy-makers and staff across rail. It provides a lead for train companies in smart ticketing, customer information and consolidating its role as the provider of trusted data to operating companies, retailers and approved third parties.
Following a career in consultancy Simon worked at Reuters, then 10 years as a CIO in Financial Services. Firstly at the Bank of England, throughout the financial crisis, then at IFDS providing market leading technology and services to the wealth management industry.
Simon brings to his role in the rail industry his experience of complex transactional service, diverse industries, secure customer data, analytics, digital channels and the importance of aligning technology to the purpose of the organisation and the industry.
