Fabian HansmannFabian Hansmann, Scientific Advisor for Railroad Engineering and Applied Technology, Plasser American

Fabian is a graduate of Graz University of Technology in Austria, where he obtained a degree in Civil Engineering focusing on Environment and Transportation. Between 2011 and 2015 he worked as a research associate at the Institute of Railway Engineering and Transport Economy. After he finished his PhD thesis on asset management of railway tracks, he joined Plasser & Theurer as Senior Expert Track Technology. In August 2019 he moved to the United States to work as a Scientific Advisor for Railroad Engineering and Applied Technology for Plasser American.

Martina Zeiner Martina Zeiner, University Assistant, Graz University of Technology – Institute of Railway Engineering and Transport Economy

Martina has been working at the Institute of Railway Engineering and Transport Economy for more than two years. In her job as University Assistant, she is not only active in teaching but also works on projects which focus on different sustainable solutions within the railway sector in regard to infrastructure, vehicles and operation (e.g. lifecycle assessment, alternative drives or ATO).

Matthias Landgraf Matthias Landgraf, Senior Scientist, Graz University of Technology – Institute of Railway Engineering and Transport Economy

Matthias is lecturer, project leader and finished his PhD in 2016 focusing on condition monitoring, prognostics and asset management of railway infrastructure assets. Since then, he has established the research group ‘environmental aspects in railways’ focusing on energy efficiency, lifecycle assessment and alternative propulsion technologies within the railway system.

Marco MeierMarco Meier, Energy Systems Engineer, SBB

Marco is an Energy Systems Engineer and expert for alternative drives and energy storage solutions within the Competence Centre for Energy Storage at SBB. Marco is responsible for the development of decarbonisation strategies in the field of railway traction with a focus on techno-economic analyses.
