High-speed railway in Norway – with ILF participation

Almost 100 years after the last major new railways were built, Norway wants to connect the larger cities by rail with a high-speed railway network according to the national transport plan 2012. In cooperation with a Norwegian partner office, ILF was awarded with the design of the high-speed railway line between Oslo and Trondheim.

This north/south-bound section is approximately 450 km long; with top speeds of up to 300 km/h, the traveling time between the two cities shall be shortened to about 2h 45min. The contract comprises the definition and selection of viable route corridors, the design of route alternatives, the route selection as well as the preparation of initial construction concepts and impact analyses.
