KBR (NYSE:KBR) today announced that it has been selected to provide engineering design and construction phase support services for the Glenfield to Leppington rail line for John Holland as part of the New South Wales Transport Construction Authority’s South West Rail Link project in Sydney, Australia. The South West Rail Link project is currently the largest metropolitan rail project under construction in New South Wales.

KBR’s Australian-based Infrastructure and Minerals (I&M) team will provide permanent way design, overhead wiring design and communications systems design as part of this portion of the project. Once construction begins in 2012, KBR will also provide construction phase services support to the project delivery team.
