New plan for a green railway in the North of England unveiled
RIA North have published a plan which sets out a long-term vision for how the railway network in the North of England should be electrified in order to decarbonise rail in the region.

The UK’s Railway Industry Association (RIA) North supports members across the UK’s north region, including the North East and West and Yorkshire and the Humber. RIA North works with regional and national political and industry figures to represent the rail supply chain and help build a more efficient, reliable and greener railway in the North of England. RIA North has five key workstreams, looking at: Decarbonisation; Innovation; Skills; Value for Money; and Digitalisation. The Group builds upon the Northern Rail Industry Leaders, who set the direction of the region’s work.
