Global Railway Review: Celebrating our 25th anniversary

Posted: 7 June 2019 | | No comments yet

Launched as European Railway Review 25 years ago, the print publication’s intention was to produce content written by the rail industry for the rail industry, showcasing in-depth articles covering diverse topics that impact the rail sector. These are still Global Railway Review’s intentions today, and what we pride ourselves on delivering.

Originally a quarterly publication, we increased our frequency to six issues per year in 2006 and introduced our website and digital platform that same year. Over the years, the brand has also strengthened its industry presence with the launch of a series of successful live rail conferences, cementing us as an organisation that brings together industry experts and providing a platform for important discussion and debate.

By listening to our audience and understanding the globalisation of rail, we boldly rebranded to Global Railway Review in 2017, extending our editorial coverage to report on international rail developments. Always engaging with our audience and partners and by introducing multiple channels to showcase what matters most in rail, Global Railway Review has become a trusted partner in the industry.

Covering the latest technologies and developments, Global Railway Review provides high-quality analysis across our core topics: Digitalisation, Freight, Infrastructure, Regulations & Legislations, Rolling Stock, Safety & Security, Signalling & Telecommunications, Sustainability and The Passenger.

Having published over 5,000 articles in print and online, our strong relationship with rail experts makes us a trusted industry partner. Some of our contributors wanted to congratulate us on our 25th anniversary, and here is what some of them had to say:

“It is my great pleasure to congratulate Global Railway Review on its 25th anniversary. Only the best quality content magazines can stand the test of time. I would also like to congratulate the team for their sheer hard work, perseverance and determination which has helped the magazine reach this place. All the very best for the next 25 years to come.”
Philippe Citroën, Director General, UNIFE

“Special greetings and hearty congratulations to all the team at Global Railway Review for reaching this impressive anniversary. You should all be very proud of the achievement.” Simon Fletcher, Coordinator Europe & Chief Standardisation Officer, UIC (International Union of Railways)

“My warmest congratulations to Global Railway Review for its first 25 years and best wishes for another 25 years ahead. Given the enhanced role railways play to ensure a sustainable future for EU mobility, reporting on what is happening in the rail sector is of greater importance every day. This is why all CER members are grateful to Global Railway Review for its efforts!”
Libor Lochman, Executive Director, Community of European Railway & Infrastructure Companies (CER)

“Global Railway Review is a must for everyone in the railway sector. The team systematically focuses on a wide variety of exciting content about the latest developments regarding railway and mobility. Since Infrabel was established in 2005, we have always been given the opportunity to present our infrastructure works and other projects within Global Railway Review, and we would like to thank you sincerely for that. Congratulations on your 25th birthday. Together with Infrabel staff, I am looking forward our future collaborations.”
Luc Lallemand, CEO, Infrabel

The Global Railway Review team are extremely proud to have reached this special milestone. We are looking forward to further cementing our position as a leading brand within the global rail sector and continuing to produce high-quality content for many more years to come.
