Network Rail Consulting has expanded its operations in North America with the opening of a Canadian subsidiary headed by its new vice president.

Network Rail Consulting, a wholly owned subsidiary of Network Rail, has opened a Canadian subsidiary as part of its expansion into the North American market. The subsidiary will be headquartered in Toronto.

Commenting on the opening, Nigel Ash, managing director of Network Rail Consulting said: “I am pleased to announce the opening of our new Canadian subsidiary. Over the last 12 months we have carried a number of consultancy assignments and having a local office will us allow to provide better and more responsive services to our existing clients as well as pursue new opportunities. Our approach is to have a blend of local Canadian resources together with Network Rail staff from our parent company.”

Network Rail Consulting appoints vice president to lead Canadian operation

Network Rail Consulting has also announced the appointment of vice president Susanne M Manaigre to lead its Canadian operation. Ms Manaigre will report to Ron Hartman, president, North America.

Commenting on the appointment, Ron Hartman, president, North America said: “I am delighted to welcome Susanne to our North American team. Having spent her career in the Canadian rail market, she brings a wealth of experience and deep understanding of it. As we continue our expansion trajectory, Susanne will provide our growing client list with real-world perspective of what it takes to protect and improve railroad assets and their operation.”

Susanne M Manaigre was the former chief of operations at GO Transit/Metrolinx, the regional public transport system in Southern Ontario carrying in excess of 69 million passengers a year in an extensive network of train and bus services.
