UK Air-Rail Update 2015: Planning and operating successful air-rail links across the UK and learning from international experiences

After a successful inaugural event, the UK Air-Rail Update returns to London for 2015 to showcase and discuss all the latest developments in air-rail policy in the UK, with representatives from across industry and government.

Covering everything from HS2, Thameslink and Crossrail connectivity, to integrated ticketing systems and an overview of air-rail projects across the world, UK Air-Rail Update 2015 is a critical event for aviation and rail professionals as well as third party stakeholders looking to get a grasp of the current state of air-rail and to network with key industry contacts. Back in February 2014, the event focused on the air-rail link implications of the Airports Commission’s Interim Report, including the long term options for new runway capacity in South East England. Since then, the short listed options have refined their proposals and the Airports Commission has published further discussion papers and is undertaking a major public consultation throughout autumn 2014.

With the Commission’s full report due to be published after the General Election in May 2015, this will be the last UK Air-Rail Update event before the Commissioners’ final recommendations are announced. Attendees will have the chance to see what role air-rail links could play in the final report and to hear from people involved in the planning, designing and operation of air-rail links to gain an understanding against which the Airports Commission’s recommendations will inevitably be judged.
