Lineas signs maintenance contract for overhaul of 30 locomotives
Under the contract, Voith will be responsible for the major overhaul of 30 Lineas locomotives over the next four and a half years.
Lineas, the largest private rail freight operator in Europe, has announced that it has signed a maintenance contract with Voith for the major overhaul of a first batch of 30 type HLD 77 locomotives. The agreement covers a major overhaul with a predefined basic scope, as well as other options for variant-specific components and for the type L4r4 turbo transmissions.
The work will be carried out within the next four and a half years, with the fundamentals of the collaboration based on reliability improvement, cost reduction and downtime optimisations. On top of analysing the technical condition of the vehicles, Voith can potentially also perform several upgrades as part of the overhaul.
