Thales signed eight contracts for design, delivery, installation and commissioning of signaling systems in Poland for the Polish railway infrastructure operator, Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PKP PLK S.A). The global amount of the contracts is €87 million.

Thales will deliver wayside equipment, electronic interlocking and centralized traffic control systems , the project is expected to be completed by middle 2013.

Paweł Piotrowski, General Director of Thales Poland, said: “These new contracts are the result of a trusted relationship with PKP PLK, built on the successful realization of three local control centers and the remote control of the 220 km long sector from Katowice to Rzeszów”.

With these contracts, Thales confirms its significant position in the signaling business in Poland, one of the largest European rail network with (19,599 km of tracks) placed on strategic corridors of international transport routes.
