MTR Crossrail today announced its full Executive team, ready to start the first phase of the Crossrail Operating Concession on behalf of Rail for London.

MTR Crossrail will begin running TfL Rail-branded services between Liverpool Street and Shenfield on 31 May 2015.  Further services will be gradually introduced from 2018, with full Crossrail services operating by the end of 2019.

MTR Crossrail Managing Director Steve Murphy said:

“I am delighted we have been able to draw together a group of very talented individuals from a wide range of backgrounds – Network Rail, TfL, Train Operating Companies and the retail sector.

“We will need that breadth of experience to deliver the exciting and challenging operational programme for Crossrail.

“The team’s extensive experience of delivering results through partnership and collaboration will enable us to build strong relationships with the wide range of organisations involved in Crossrail.”

Steve’s career and success in the Industry has seen him set up London Overground Rail Operations Limited (LOROL) and as MD was responsible for achieving an unprecedented increase in customer satisfaction, the highest ever right time punctuality on record and a quadrupling of passenger numbers in 5 years.

Andy joins from Network Rail, where he was Area Director West Anglia, following a highly successful career which has seen him rise through the organisation into key leadership roles responsible for the delivery of both Operations and Maintenance disciplines in various parts of the South East rail network.

Andy King, Finance Director, MTRAndy King

Finance Director
Andy was a key member of the successful MTR team that produced the winning bid for the Crossrail Concession. Prior to joining MTR, he has held a number of key financial management roles in Train Operating Companies.

Claire Mann, HR and Operations Director, MTRClaire Mann

HR and Operations Director
Claire joins us from Arriva Trains Wales, where she was Operations and Safety Director, following a number of highly successful leadership roles with Great Western and LOROL, which followed her early career as one of the first female drivers with Heathrow Express.

Kev Jones, Engineering Director, MTRKev Jones

Engineering Director
Kev joins from Abellio where he has led the Engineering elements for their bid team for the last three years following a very successful career in the National Rail Industry responsible for a number of new fleet introductions and the management of various engineering teams and locations.

Mark Eaton, Concession Director, MTR Mark Eaton

Concession Director
Mark joins us from his role as Concession Director at LOROL, where he was integral to the success of that business and particularly it’s very successful relationship with TfL. Mark also brings extensive experience from the National Rail Industry, stretching back to his early career with British Rail.

Nigel Holness, Programme Director, MTRNigel Holness

Programme Director
Nigel is currently Operations Director for the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly Lines where he is responsible for service delivery and asset maintenance, the latest in a number of key leadership roles he has held within London Underground Limited (LUL). Nigel brings extensive experience of both heavy rail and metro operations from an operating, engineering and upgrade delivery perspective. Nigel led the operations team through the period of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and has played a key role in driving reliability and efficiency improvements across LUL.

Paul joins MTR Crossrail as Customer Experience Director, following a highly successful career in the retail industry, leading some of the major customer service transformations in this sector.
