InnoTrans: Russian Railways and Siemens sign technological cooperation agreement

On 21st September 206, Russian Railways and Siemens signed an agreement which will establish long-term scientific and technological cooperation between the companies in the field of digital technology and the development, adaptation and localisation of products for the needs of rail transport.

Russian Railways and Siemens to cooperate on the development of digital technology

Both sides expressed readiness to discuss the desirability and feasibility of creating an engineering centre for the development, adaptation and localisation of products for the needs of railway transport, as well as diagnosing technical conditions and forecasting the residual resource of high-speed and fast rolling stock and its components.

The agreement will also see Russian Railways and Siemens cooperate on the development and implementation of railway automation and remote-control systems.

The latest scientific and technical cooperation will build upon a strategic memorandum between the two parties signed on the 17 June 2016 in St. Petersburg.
