AMT awards operations and maintenance contract for Montréal commuter rail fleet

Montréal’s Agence Métropolitaine de Transport (AMT) has awarded Bombardier Transportation a contract for operation and maintenance of its commuter rail fleet.

Bombardier has been awarded an eight-year contract for the Operations and Maintenance of the AMT commuter rail fleet on all of its six lines in the greater Montréal area. The contract agreement, worth approximately $331 million CAD ($246 million US, 231 million euro), came into effect from 18^th November 2016

Benoît Brossoit, President, Bombardier Transportation, Americas Region, said: “AMT’s commuter rail service is one of the most important in North America and has been a growing success story for many years, and Bombardier is honoured to be a partner in its development.”

Having provided maintenance services for ATM since 2010, the new contract will once again cover maintenance of AMT’s entire fleet of 264 coaches and 41 locomotives and in addition cover operations of its commuter rail services.
