Award-winning train operator, c2c, now has the latest on-board entertainment from Go Media, along with free WiFi, to improve commuters’ journeys to and from the office.

The ‘vista’ media content portal
This is the first time anything like this has been made available to c2c passengers, who will be able to access Sky News; Sky Sports News; NOW TV; and Bloomberg. Passengers will also benefit from regularly updated c2c travel information, showing service status and London underground information.
“We’ve developed this on-board infotainment system with GoMedia and we’re proud to be the first train operator to offer premium content to London’s commuters for free,” said Clare McCaffrey, Commercial Director of c2c. “Combined with our new free on-board WiFi, we know the new service will be a hit with the tens of thousands of passengers who travel with c2c every day.”
c2c and Go Media have created the ‘vista’ media content portal, which passengers can access via their browser or a dedicated ‘vista’ app downloaded to their mobile devices, with all content being streamed from an on-board server, ensuring a better quality of service. This process frees up the data network accessed by the train to make room for more efficient data use, enabling customers to use the free Wi-Fi, thereby providing passengers with a smoother all-round experience.
“We expect this to result in an increase in terms of passenger satisfaction”
“c2c is a forward-thinking TOC and its predominantly commuter base provides us with a really exciting opportunity to bring our technology on to shorter train journeys,” added Roger Matthews, Managing Director of GoMedia. “The average c2c commute takes around 40 minutes, so for passengers completing this journey twice a day, five times a week, a free source of entertainment, information and news will be very welcome and we expect this to result in an increase in terms of passenger satisfaction.”
As well as c2c, which runs services between Fenchurch Street, and Basildon, Southend and Grays, GoMedia’s portfolio includes Virgin Trains East and West Coast, Eurostar and National Express coaches.
