In four months’ time the world’s leading trade fair for transport technology will be hosting the Hacktrain 4.0 hackathon on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. Hot on the heels of the initiative’s previous success, the Hacktrain returns – a kind of technology marathon for hackers where endurance is required from the software developers, designers and industry experts who are doing the programming.

Between 18-21 September 2018, participants at the CityCube Berlin will focus on algorithms, bots and prototypes, with the aim of developing new ideas for networked mobile solutions. On the Friday of the trade fair the computer pioneers will present their results at the forum in the Career & Education Hall (7.1c). The group with the most exciting and innovative software solution will be honoured directly as the winners.

Trade visitors at InnoTrans can take part in the presentation and contribute their expertise prior to the event, during the hackathon’s public opening times. Click here for details of the timetable.

Commenting on the lofty ambitions of HackTrain, River Tamoor Baig, Founder and CEO of Hack Partners, said: “The HackTrain initiative’s goal is the digital transformation of the rail industry”. The hackathon is organised by Hack Partners – a team of thought-leaders, campaigners, consultants and engineers – who have several years of experience organising coding events and who specialise in the rail transport sector.

“InnoTrans is an incredibly exciting and energetic environment. So is our hackathon. In the space of four days that is where computer solutions will be developed to tackle the biggest challenges facing the rail industry. Hold on to your sock and hats, otherwise they might get blown away!”
