A Coradia iLint train has demonstrated the effectiveness of hydrogen power after successfully travelling 1,175km without stopping to refill its tank.
Alstom have announced that the world’s first hydrogen train, the Coradia iLint, will begin passenger service on a 100 per cent hydrogen operated route.
The contract, which has a total value of around €760 million, will see Alstom deliver the Coradia Stream trains by December 2024 and maintain them for 30 years.
