Rail Freight Forward
Rail Freight Forward members and sector associations have welcomed an MoU for the development of European Digital Automatic Coupling (DAC) for rail freight.
Ahead of an anniversary event to showcase what has been achieved so far with the Rail Freight Forward (RFF) coalition’s ‘Noah’s Train’, the Port of Rotterdam and RFF have announced they will be joining forces to work closely on achieving sustainable multimodality.
Moving freight by rail is no doubt the most energy-efficient means of land-based transportation, but as Libor Lochman, Executive Director of the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER) explains, more must still be done to entice potential customers onto rail and achieve a modal shift for freight.
Rail Freight Forward is convinced that rail has a crucial role to play in building a more sustainable freight sector, that will help Europe realise its climate ambitions.
