Tracsis-owned rail software and technology company, OnTrac Ltd, has signed a five-year deal with Transport for London (TfL).

The deal, announced in June 2018, will see the Elizabeth line workforce utilising OnTrac’s safe work pack creation workflows; further streamlining the planning and delivery of work on the Elizabeth line.

The RailHub suite consists of several components, including SWP and ePIC, which gives users remote access to packs on site and enables site task leaders to view, manage and digitally sign packs from anywhere in the network.

The entire suite will be adopted as part of the deal – including the National Hazard Directory, Work Package Plans and Task Briefings and Access Points.

OnTrac have committed to making bespoke amendments to the platform to accommodate the Elizabeth line specific needs.

Hayley Child, TfL’s Maintenance and Access Planning Manager for the Elizabeth line, said: “OnTrac have worked closely to understand our specific needs and adapt their existing products to deliver our requirements and we are looking forward to having a simple-to-use system.”

TfL also agreed to OnTrac’s schematics on-demand solution, eTrac-GIS – software that transforms how diagrams and schematics of track layout are viewed in the rail industry. As part of the eTrac-GIS adoption, TfL will use the software as a possession planning tool; the UK’s first major rail infrastructure manager to utilise the product in this manner.

OnTrac’s Chief Technical Officer, Mark Atkinson, said: “The rail industry is already seeing the benefits of RailHub and eTrac-GIS. We’re excited to see how the Elizabeth line will benefit from using eTrac-GIS as a possession planning tool and will be looking to see how we can adapt our products in future, to continue benefitting the rail industry.”

As part of a continued expansion, OnTrac are currently in talks with Danish Rail, Finland Rail and companies in Balkan states, as well as a number of the Tier 1 operators in the US and Canada.
