Bombardier to provide rail engineering education in Thailand

Bombardier Transportation has signed an agreement to provide rail engineering education in Thailand, strengthening its position in key markets.

Bombardier Transportation has signed an agreement to provide rail engineering education in Thailand, strengthening its position in key markets.
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Bombardier Transportation and Navamindradhiraj University, alongside King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (Bangkok), The Krungthep Thanakom Co., Ltd., Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited (BTS), and AMR Asia Co. Ltd, will provide engineering expertise to students and instructors in Thailand over the next four years.
MoU will provide rail engineering education to students and instructors
The new partnership will promote and coordinate cooperation between the partners for the development of training and expertise in urban rail transit, naval, aircraft and other associated industries. Experts from Bombardier will collaborate with the University’s Urban Community College of Bangkok (UCCB) to develop a new Associate Degree Program in Rail Technology.
Gregory Enjalbert, Head of Asia Pacific, Rail Control Solutions, Bombardier Transportation, commented: “Bombardier is fully committed to developing local expertise in Thailand. We are able to contribute our almost twenty year’s presence in the Thai rail industry, a highly skilled team and prior experience in working with the educational sector. I will be very proud to see the first graduates benefit from this new partnership.”
Since 2013, Bombardier has also partnered with Kasetsart University to provide rail engineering education. The company aims to continue its partnership with academia in order to grow roots in its key markets. Over its 19-year presence in Bangkok, Bombardier has trained a local team of over 450 working on projects in Thailand, Asia and worldwide.
