The thirteenth InnoTrans has officially begun where 2,834 exhibitors from 56 countries are occupying the entire exhibition grounds of the Messe Berlin.
Significant progress has been made in delivering the three 'Act Now' priorities since their original publication in July 2020.
As well as introducing new direct services between the two countries, SBB and DB will work to ensure that travel times will be further reduced.
The test marks the first time passengers have been on-board an ATO train in the Netherlands, which can accelerate and brake automatically.
The contract represents Stadler's first major tender for rolling stock within Asia.
The contract means that passengers in the Ruhr area of Germany will see an additional eight Stadler VARIOBAHN low-floor trams in operation from mid 2021.
